In samenwerking met Vereniging Groei & Bloei start een ludieke regionale actie - uitsluitend voor Groei & Bloei leden - met de kamerplant ‘Hawaiian Palm’ (Brighamia insignis). Deze bijzondere actie wordt gecoördineerd door Groei & Bloei Maassluis/Maasland. Aan deze actie is een wedstrijd verbonden: wie als eerste minimaal drie open bloemen in de plant weet te krijgen wint een Kookworkshop voor 6 personen bij Koppert Cress in Monster onder leiding van een chef-kok!
De slogan van deze wedstrijd is "Ludieke actie met lange adem: Hawaiian Palm!". De actie start 1 november 2011 en loopt tot en met 15 januari 2012. U kunt hieraan meedoen door u aan te melden via het formulier op de website van Groei & Bloei Maassluis/Maasland. U bestelt daarmee de Hawaiian Palm à € 6,00. De plant wordt begin februari 2012 geleverd, is dan 25 tot 30 weken oud en bloeit ongeveer in september/oktober 2012.
Deze tropische kamerplant wordt exclusief voor Europa gekweekt door Plant Planet in Maasdijk, een bedrijf met een missie. Het produceert planten waar een verhaal bij hoort. Centraal thema is ‘overleven’ en de ‘lange adem’ in de slogan van deze ludieke actie verwijst ook hiernaar.
