Euphorbia 'Lucky Eight'

Download Product Leaflet

Euphorbia milii or Thorn of Christ, is among the first plants that appeared in the living room. Everyone has a grandmother or an aunt with such a plant in the living room. The older types were characterized by their small flowers and large virulent spines. The breeders of Plant Planet  have succeeded in changing  these properties so that now the flowers are large and the spines  small. Furthermore, also the flowering characteristics are  greatly improved. Even in the low winter light 'Lucky Eight'  can be very rich in  bloom.

'Lucky Eight' can be used in the summer months very well as a balcony or terrace plant . The colour of the  flowers will turn in a few days from light pink to almost  cerise red cerise.

'Lucky Eight' is a cross between a small-flowered European variety and a large flowering type  from the so-called Asian  Poysean group. Poysean is a corruption of the Chinese word for 8 saints originating in  the Chinese mythology. In Asia, 8 is the lucky number  and in almost every Asian household you can find a Euphorbia milii because this plant is regarded as a bringer of luck and prosperity.

'Lucky Eight' is therefore a true lucky plant.
